Mentoring for Masterful Leadership
Why does it matter?
Everyone says learning is important and few have the time to invest in it; especially given the structure and ineffective methods of the traditional training industry. Most training programs help generate a few good ideas and intentions, and then leave out the critical support needed to turn them into meaningful results.
Mentoring for Masterful Leadership changes all of that. It is a radically different approach to learning that works.
What will it do for me?
Mentoring for Masterful Leadership is a mutually designed, one-on-one program that helps leaders expand their capacity to meet their goals and aspirations through becoming strong, focused leaders who act on what they care about. This is accomplished through pursuing one or more of the following objectives:
- Develop and maximize your capacity to lead by mastering:
- meaningful vision creation
- communication
- inspiring trust and commitment to action
- creativity
- focusing skills
- Leverage your leadership strengths and neutralize the impact of limitations
- Create better balance between work and the rest of your life
- Develop a plan for fulfilling your business legacy
- Improve retention among direct reports
- Prepare for new roles:
- Help emerging leaders prepare for next assignments
- Assimilate newly appointed leaders into their roles
- Develop successors to replace leaders who will be leaving senior positions
How does it work?
At the heart of Mentoring for Masterful Leadership is a radically different learning process. Instead of focusing on good ideas and intentions as the outcome of learning, this approach focuses on converting good ideas and intentions into ability, as demonstrated by real results. This is accomplished by inserting learning practices into activities that are already on the calendar. As a result, busy leaders get twice the value from their time through doing real work and real learning at the same time.
Mentoring for Masterful Leadership also helps leaders become skilled at personal change. Before leaders can change organizations, they need to be experienced at changing themselves.
The program is paced over six to twelve months. It starts with an orientation to the process and a personal history interview. Subsequent meetings are conducted by telephone or in-person.
What is included?
- Up to three hours of coaching per month.
- Between the scheduled meetings, short phone calls and email contact are included, so that help is available when needed.
- Full access to all of the WondraGroup assessments, tools and processes, as needed to support the successful completion of the program.
- Periodic homework assignments to support the learning process throughout the program.
